BSS HUB – Heart-Safe Digital Presence

PROJECT OVERVIEW

BSS HUB is the commercial and consulting subsidiary of the renowned Björn Steiger Foundation, focused on implementing life-saving defibrillator infrastructure and public awareness initiatives across Germany. I was tasked with building a clean, modern, and responsive website that mirrors the credibility of the parent foundation while positioning BSS HUB as an independent, agile partner for municipalities and organizations.

CHALLENGE

The key challenge was to translate the medical expertise and humanitarian mission of the Björn Steiger Foundation into a professional digital experience—without losing clarity or warmth. The website had to communicate trust, innovation, and social responsibility while offering modularity for diverse services such as training, equipment sales, consulting, and downloads. In addition, the brand required a new logo that would visually position BSS HUB as a strong, yet approachable, extension of the foundation. Another major goal was to build and integrate a consistent social media presence that reinforces BSS HUB’s values and encourages direct engagement.

SOLUTION

I developed a clean, minimal brand identity starting with the logo design, which balances professionalism with modern simplicity. The logo subtly reflects the visual DNA of the Björn Steiger Foundation while establishing a distinct identity for BSS HUB.

The responsive website was built using Framer and features structured navigation, clear CTAs, and informative content that emphasizes action—such as “Make Germany Heart-Safe.” Visual elements were designed in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva, with a focus on medical clarity and digital trust.

I also implemented a fully GDPR-compliant structure, including cookie consent management, privacy documentation, and accessibility features—ensuring legal reliability without compromising the user experience.

Finally, I created and aligned BSS HUB’s social media presence, including profile visuals, link-in-bio setups, and tone-of-voice adjustments for consistent communication across platforms.

RESULTS

The clean layout, new logo, and consistent visuals build trust across target groups—from municipalities and healthcare institutions to corporate partners. The GDPR-compliant foundation ensures long-term sustainability and legal security.

KEY LEARNINGS

This project strengthened my ability to develop holistic brand systems—from logo to layout to legal infrastructure. It was my first time implementing GDPR requirements in such detail, which gave me valuable experience in designing with both user experience and data protection in mind. The project also challenged me to think across multiple touchpoints—from visual identity to social media to content structure—all while supporting a mission that saves lives.
